First Communion
Receiving the Eucharist for the first time is a very special moment. For a child to understand truly that they are receiving the body of Jesus Christ is what we want them to come to know fully.

Children are generally ready to learn about First Communion at the age of 7. It's up to the parents discretion when they think that their child is ready for preparation.

Preparation for First Reconcilliation and First Communion begins around September/October with the Family Faith Formation Group which meets once a month.
Specific guidelines and lessons are followed. Extra dates during each month can also be decided upon if necessary.
First Penance (Confession) will usually take place the following year during Lent.
First Communion is usually held during the Easter season or late spring depending when all candidates are available.
Sacraments are celebrated when the children are properly prepared.
